Pilipit Caramelized Twisted bread






Delicious  Pilipit recipe



Ingredients
·         2 cups flour
·         1/4 tsp. baking powder
·         1 egg
·         1/2 cup milk
·         oil for deep frying
Syrup
·         1 can of coconut milk
·         5 cups brown sugar
·         a pinch salt


Step 1
Mix and sift flour, baking powder and salt into a bowl. Set aside
Step 2
Beat egg and add to milk. Pour this mixture into sifted flour.
Step 3
Knead until smooth, and then divide into several portions.
Step 4
Roll each portion on bread board into strips 4 inches long.
Step 5
Twist the strip to bring the ends together (or make an “8″ shape, if desired).
Step 6
Fry in hot oil until brown, drain and dip in syrup.
Step 7  Syrup making .
Combine 1 can coconut  milk and the dark  brown sugar in a sauce pan , Stirring constantly until sugar is dissolved  and  bring to boil until it forms a thick syrup.
